Perform Facial Exercises to Help Slow Signs of Aging

There are many facial exercises that help slow signs of aging, but these exercises are often neglected. Unlike other muscles in our body, facial muscles are not attached to the bone. Instead, facial muscles are connected to the skin, allowing for a wide range of movements that determine our facial expressions. When you make a particular facial expression constantly, over an extended period of time, your facial muscles end up getting tensed, even when your face is relaxed. For example, if you frown often, your forehead ends up showing wrinkles much quicker than otherwise.
It is important to perform facial exercises to help slow signs of aging, because these exercises give your face an everlasting young look. Wrinkles make your face appear old. A wrinkle-free face appears calm and young. Facial exercises can be performed at any time during the day. You can also set aside a specific time for these facial exercises, such as right before bedtime.

Facial exercises for the mouth area.

Are you familiar with nasolabial folds? Nasolabial folds are the scientific word describing the deep creases that form on each side of your nose, and run down by your mouth. To help prevent, or reduce the extent of the nasolabial folds, you should perform a facial exercise that stretches the muscles surrounding your mouth. This exercise will help your mouth muscles stay supple, because it promotes better blood flow and oxygenation.
To do this exercise, lay your index and middle fingers on each side of your mouth, halfway from your nose. Then, pull your fingers upward very gently, towards your cheeks, and push them back down. Make sure you keep your lips straight and shut while you do this. Repeat the same motion, approximately 10 times daily.

Facial exercises for the forehead

In order to give a smooth look to your forehead, gently place both your middle and index fingers on each side of your temple, and then gently rub forward until they converge in the middle of your forehead. Then, do the same rubbing motion backward, until your fingers end up by your temples. Repeat this exercise 10 times. Then, stretch your eyes wide open and hold that position for two seconds. Repeat this 10 times also.

Conclusion

Don't settle on these two exercises. Be creative, and see what else works for you. The bottom line is to continue to perform facial exercises to help slow signs of aging.
Good Luck!

Anti Aging Foods Good for the Skin

Anti aging is the most talked about subject in the beauty circles and it is not surprising to know that most people are aware of the 'good foods', which help in slowing down the process. However, being aware is not enough. You have to actually incorporate the 'good food habits' in your diet to make the benefits visible. The first signs of aging are visible when the skin starts to show fine lines, wrinkles or spots. There are no particular anti aging foods to fight off the demon of aging, but only the correct incorporation and balance of certain foods in one's daily routine can help delay it a little. While it is impossible to completely stop the aging process, it is certainly possible to slow down the process, so that you have a firm, supple and clear skin for long. Here is a brief explanation of anti aging foods good for the skin:

Water:
The most essential of all the elements - water - is something without which one cannot live. In addition to being a vital part of one's existence, water tops the list of anti aging foods. Water is also a food good for the skin as it hydrates it, flushes the "free radicals" responsible for the wrinkles and spots out of the body. While the right quantity of water differs with each person, the ideal quantity is at least eight glasses a day.

Berries:
The aging process is a result of poor eating habits which slowly damage the internal system causing the release of toxins or free radicals in the body. Therefore, berries are ideal to fight these free radicals as they are a rich source of antioxidants. All fresh berries are excellent anti aging foods that slow the process of aging.

Nuts:
Essential Omega 3 fatty acids can be found in nuts in high quantities. Therefore, nuts like peanuts, Brazil nuts, walnuts, pecans and almonds are included in the food good for the skin. The anti-inflammatory Omega-3 fatty acids in nuts help keep the skin free of blotchiness and irritation.

Avocadoes:
This is an excellent food good for the skin. The presence of essential oils, sterolins and vitamins like A, B, B3, D and E make this a great anti aging food. Sterolins are known to nurture the skin and repair sun-damaged skin. Avocadoes increase collagen and moisturize the skin making it firm and supple.
Besides the above-mentioned anti aging foods that are good for the skin, there are certain other foods like fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains, green tea and yogurt that contribute towards the slowing down of the aging process. However, while we concentrate on foods good for the skin, it is equally important to be aware of foods that are to be avoided. These include white foods like white bread, white flour, high sugar and high starch foods. Processed foods are a complete 'no' if you wish to have a great skin. However, if you cannot avoid these foods completely, at least, cut down on their consumption.
Therefore, what we gather here is that it is the right selection of food that helps slow the aging process while also keeping the skin healthy and free of blemishes.

Best Anti Aging Exercises

It has long been known that our bodies and hormonal levels deteriorate as we age. Our skin loses its elasticity and our bones starts to weaken over time. Fortunately, we can slow down the effects of aging on our bodies by doing certain changes in our lifestyle - and having regular exercise is one of them. Studies have shown that having regular exercise is actually one of the best ways, if not the best way, to delay the signs of aging. Exercising regularly alongside eating a healthy diet would greatly help not only on improving your fitness level but on your longevity as well. With this, let me share to you some of the best anti aging exercises that you can try.

1. Flexibility exercises.

This kind of exercise can help increase your blood circulation which in turn help the brain to release serotonin. Serotonin is a chemical produced by our brains which is good for our overall health. Aside from increasing your blood circulation, flexibility exercises can also help improve your posture and improve your coordination. Yoga is one great example of this kind of exercise. What's good about flexibility exercises is that it is very low maintenance and you don't have to invest in an expensive equipment to get the work done.

2. Strengthening exercises.

This kind of exercise can help protect your body from bone mass loss. Aside from improving your bone and muscle strength, strengthening exercises can also help in increasing your hormone production and toughening up your connective tissues. Squats, push ups, lunges and weight lifting are some examples of this kind of exercise.

3. Cardiovascular exercises.

Aside from helping you ward off the signs of aging, this heart friendly exercise can also help you maintain your weight. Studies have shown that you need to do cardio exercises for at least fifteen to twenty minutes to be able to achieve good results. Running, brisk walking, dancing and sports such as basketball, tennis, badminton and football are some examples of this exercise.
There is actually no particular time of the day when exercise is more effective. Most people often prefer exercising in the morning to jumpstart their day, while some prefer exercising in the afternoon to avoid the risk of injuries. It really doesn't matter what time of the day you exercise as long as you do it regularly and properly. It is very important to stay active no matter how busy your schedules are to be able to stay and look healthy and young for a long long time.

Seven Ways to Make Sure You Age Well

Getting older can be an odd feeling. It's harder to lose weight, your joints make sounds and you start getting hot flashes--yet you still feel young and alert. What can you do to make sure that you get older and remain active and vibrant?

1. Assess your health right now. Think about how you feel. Can you hear well? Do you have back pain? Do you need to lose weight? Make a list of all your health concerns and see a doctor so that you can separate the real from fiction regarding your health.

2. Create reasonable goals for the things you'd like to change. If you need to lose weight, commit to an exercise program three or four times a week. If you want to go out more often, find groups to join. The most important thing here is to take action today instead of putting these things off into the future.

3. Update your wardrobe. This is often overlooked by people getting older, but the truth is that stylish clothing can make you feel better about yourself and help you to look better. Make sure to stay age-appropriate and get clothing that are comfortable.

4. Find out about the best diet for you. Talk to a doctor about any vitamin or mineral deficiencies you have, and consider going to a nutritionist to make sure that you are eating well. The food you eat plays a large role in how you feel and how your body functions.

5. Find an exercise program you enjoy. If you don't exercise, now is the time to start. Exercising can help you feel more positive, and it can help ease the pressures that your body is feeling. Exercise can also make your body stronger and give you more energy.

6. Get a social life. Nothing perks people up like going out with others and having a good time. Interact with mixed age groups as well as with people in your age group, so you get a variety of stimulation and activity.

7. Do things you want to do. Want to take a trip? Want to learn how to play the guitar? Stop putting off the things you've longed to do and start doing them.
Everyone ages, but not everyone ages well. If you take the time to analyze where you are and where you want to be, you can create a life that you love even as you get older. Use these tips, and as you age you can be happier with yourself than ever before.
